About Soma Flow Yoga
This is not a “put your foot behind your head” kind of yoga practice. It is a practice based in deep core strength and awareness, functional movements, and flow. It is a practice to keep you moving firewood and skiing into your 90’s, and to live a life of light and purpose.
Soma Flow was born from Elizabeth’s study of the Rolfing® 10 series and Soma Structural Integration® bodywork. She saw how embryologically and developmentally we learn to move and are inherently designed to heal, and brought this pattern into her yoga classes.
7 years before Elizabeth studied the Soma series and Somatics, she began teaching yoga, having started a deep practice upon the death of her mother when she was just 25. Yoga became her medicine, and she wanted to bring it to the world, along with the 1:1 tools of Soma bodywork and massage.
Since 1997, Elizabeth has learned from senior Iyengar Yoga Teachers, Hatha Tantric Yoga Masters and Astanga Yoga pioneers. She started weaving these systems into her flow to deepen the somatic and psychological medicine of the classes she was leading. Adding the layers of Soma and refining the message with Ayurveda & Physical Therapy based LYT® yoga education birthed Soma Flow Yoga- a practice based in functional movement based asana, fascia, tantric meditation and sacred living with Ayurveda and mythology.
Each class has a specific rhythm and intention that ties into the seasons, Ayurvedic presentation of each day and to the living myth that we all share in the beautiful and precious walk of life.

“If I had to name one goal of yoga, it is Moksha, the embodiment of freedom. We experience many stories in our lives, but freedom comes from knowing that we can make choices in how we move and respond to future experiences, and not from stories already written and read.”
